How Do I Apply For A Fellowship?

California Pathways into Public Health (Pathways) Fellowship Program applicants are hired by the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Applicants must apply through the online job posting via UCSF. All completed applications will be reviewed to determine qualified applicants. Following completion of the UCSF job application, qualified applicants will receive a CDPH supplemental application via email from CalPPHFellowship@cdph.ca.gov. CDPH supplemental applications will be sent out at the end of each week and their submission deadline will be different than the UCSF application deadline. CDPH supplemental applications will require applicants’ responses to short answer questions (250 words each) and selection of local health departments where they are willing to work. Please note that the use of AI is prohibited when completing the short answer questions. ​

The fellowship applications require completion of two steps: 

• Completion of the online job listing posted through UCSF.
  
• Completion of the CDPH supplemental application, which will be sent to qualified applicants via email from CalPPHFellowship@cdph.ca.gov. Applicants should monitor their inbox and spam folders closely, so they don't miss the supplemental application deadline! If this portion of the application is incomplete, their application will be withdrawn.
  

Once completed applications are reviewed, selected applicants will be invited to interview with the Pathways team. While applications are reviewed, Pathways will be unable to respond to status inquiries or provide feedback on an application.
