What’s New & Important Notices

Welcome to RHB’s webpage for New information and Important Notices. RHB regulates numerous aspects of ionizing radiation and its use including medical, industrial, manufacturing, and mammography.

Important Notice: The information you provide to the RHB may be disclosable under the California Public Records Act (PRA). In response to PRA requests, RHB may release the address of record for Radiologic Technologists, X-ray Technicians, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, and Certified Supervisor and Operators. If you wish to provide RHB with an alternate address that will be released to the public upon request, please submit form CDPH 8391 (PDF).

Mammography Facilities

Effective January 27, 2025, RHB will only be issuing digital State Mammography Machine Certificates. Please print a copy of the certificate and post it on the identified machine as required by Title 17, California Code of Regulations sec. 30315.20(a). The certificate must be prominently displayed on the mammography x-ray machine in full view of the patient.

X-ray Machine Registration

Effective June 26, 2024, Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) will no longer issue Certificates of [X-ray Machine] Registration upon initial registration or renewal.
Registration verification is now available through online registration verification page.
