Celebrate Pride

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) values the health of all Californians. 

Beginning in June every year, members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Plus (LGBTQ+) communities, and their allies, come together for celebrations.

Pride Month

Commemorates the June 1969 Stonewall Uprising.
Honors the LGBTQ+ community, their history and achievements.
Celebrates the progress made towards a more inclusive society.
Brings awareness to the challenges faced by this community.
Recognizes the continued support needed for equality.

Access Health Resources at Pride

Pride events are a great opportunity to educate the public on LGBTQ+ issues and connect attendees to tools and services that’ll help keep them and their communities safe and healthy.

Attendees can learn about:

Health topics that affect LGBTQ+ individuals most often.
Recommended screenings at each stage of life.
Ways to get involved and promote positive health decisions.
Community organizations, services and resources.

Many events also offer free or low-cost resources to help attendees make their health a priority, such as:

Mpox vaccinations
HIV testing
STI testing
