The Office of Health Equity Advisory Committee

The Office of Health Equity Advisory Committee (OHE AC) works to advance the goals of OHE and participate in its decision making. The OHE AC is made up of a broad range of experts, advocates, clinicians, representatives from applicable state agencies and departments, local health departments, community-based organizations, and service providers that work to: ā€‹

  1. Achieve the highest level of health and mental health equity for all people, with special attention focused on unserved and underrepresented communities. 
  2. Collaborate with the Health in All Policies (HiAP​​) Task Force to identify and address the complexities of health and mental health inequities through improved social and environmental factors.
  3. Advise and assist other state departments in increasing the access and quality of health and mental health care and services. 
  4. Improve the health status of all populations and places by eliminating health disparities and inequalities.  
Members meet on a quarterly basis and consults regularly with OHE for input and updates on policy recommendations, strategic plans, emerging issues, and areas of growth. 

 

Advisory Committee Application

The Office of Health Equity periodically actively recruits for new advisory committee members to give a voice to vulnerable communities, advocate​ for health and mental health equity, and address the social determinants of health. 

OHE welcomed a new cohort of members at the second quarter Advisory Committee meeting on June 14, 2023. If you wish to be notified of future recruitment cycles, please subscribe to our listserv​.
