ā€‹Aā€‹ll Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary

This AFL notifies all Long-Term Health Care Facilities that the Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ) is holding a public comment period beginning March 15, 2024, and ending May 4, 2024, for the proposed addition of regulations to Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) for Temporary Management of Long-Term Health Care Facilities. 

ā€‹ā€‹The purpose of the proposed regulations is to establish the qualifications, powers, and duties of a temporary manager appointed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to manage a long-term health care facility when the facility has serious quality of care or financial difficulties, and the current facility ownership does not have the ability to correct the deficiencies.ā€‹

Notice of Public Comment Period 

CDPH is holding a public comment period for the proposed addition of regulations to Title 22 CCR for Temporary Management of Long-Term Health Care Facilities. CDPH welcomes public input during this comment process. Please share your comments and suggestions after reviewing a copy of the proposed regulations and additional regulatory information found on the Office of Regulations - DPH-11-017 Temporary Management webpage. Regulatory documents for these proposed regulations can also be located on the Office of Administrative Law's California Regulatory Notice Register Online webpage.

The public comment period for these proposed regulations begins on March 15, 2024, and ends on May 4, 2024.

Please submit comments for consideration by May 4, 2024, by emailing the CHCQ Regulation Development Section at: CHCQRegulations@cdph.ca.gov.
