Local Oral Health Programs
The California Healthcare, Research, and Prevention Tobacco Act of 2016 (Proposition 56) provides funding for 61 Local Health Jurisdictions (LHJs) to create and expand capacity at the local level to educate, prevent, and provide linkages to treatment programs. Grantees establish or expand upon existing programs by including the following activities related to oral health: education, disease prevention, community-clinical linkages, and surveillance. These local-level activities will improve the oral health of all Californians.
