CA PDSTAT Background

CA PDSTAT network was launched in September 2015 in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) during a strategic planning meeting in Los Angeles, CA. The purpose of the meeting was to assist CDPH and partners with developing the Diabetes Prevention Through Lifestyle Change Programs 2018 Action Plan  (PDF) to scale and sustain the National DPP in California. The action plan has a focus on vulnerable populations where the burden of diabetes is seen to be the greatest. The action plan is organized into four focused areas of action, or ā€œpillars:ā€ā€‹ā€‹ Availability, Community Engagement: Awareness, Coverage, and Provider Engagement: Screen, Test, and Refer.
