Licensing and Certification Program


Pursuant to a court order, the California Department of Public Health is required to release the address of record for certified nurse assistants, home health aides, certified hemodialysis technicians, and licensed nursing home administrators in response to a Public Records Act (PRA) request.* (Government Code starting at section 6250.)

To provide the Department with an alternate address that will be used for public release upon request, please contact the Professional Certification Branch, Registry Unit through one of the methods below.

Certified Hemodialysis Technician

The Professional Certification Branch (PCB), Aide and Technician Certification Section (ATCS) is primarily responsible for the certification of hemodialysis technicians by ensuring applicants adhere to the California Business and Professions Code, Section 1247 to 1247.9.

Effective October 11, 2009, Senate Bill (SB) 112 (Oropeza) Chapter 559, Statutes of 2009 amended the Business and Professions Code and established new California certification requirements for hemodialysis technicians including but not limited to successful passing of either a standardized test that is approved by the California Department of Public Health or passing an examination offered by a national commercially available certification program for hemodialysis technician.
