Ohe Ask chis ne dashboard

The Office of Health Equity (OHE) has produced the following dashboard to investigate place-based disparities in health and social determinants of health in California. The explorative dashboard highlights data on topics covered by the California Health Interview Survey Neighborhood Edition (AskCHIS NE©) in 2011-2012 and 2013-2014. The ten topics covered are: delay in receiving care, diabetes, food insecurity, self-reported health status, mental health (psychological distress), obesity, smoking, uninsured status, poverty, and unemployment. AskCHIS NE provides health estimates at the local level (zip code and city). The goal of OHEs dashboard is to expand on AskCHIS NE by providing data tools with enhanced data visualization and integration of statewide and geographic frames of reference, thereby improving the accessibility of health information to policy makers, planning agencies, and community-based stakeholders. Additionally, users can explore data on the relationships between pairs of topics and how these relationships differ across the state.

AskCHIS NE estimates and confidence intervals have not been aggregated or otherwise altered. For additional information on how estimates were calculated, visit AskCHIS NE. Additional data used in this dashboard was gathered from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey zip code tabulation area (ZCTA) and city population estimates.  See our User Guide to explore the dashboard below.
