Effective March 12, 2020, ADAP will no longer require CD4 count and viral load lab results during
initial enrollment and re-enrollment. ADAP previously compiled this data from the ADAP Enrollment
System (AES) for inclusion in the ADAP Data Report (ADR), but will now be utilizing data from the
surveillance system instead. AES will continue to list the CD4 count and viral load fields,
however they will now be optional and can be used at the Enrollment Siteās discretion. Clients
should not be placed on a TAP if they do not have their CD4 count and viral load.
Please note, Enrollment Workers will still need to upload proof of an HIV diagnosis for an initial
enrollment. During an initial enrollment, a clientās HIV status can be verified utilizing any of
the following documents:
- HIV positive lab results
- A letter of diagnosis from a physician or licensed healthcare provider on letterhead with the National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and the physicianās or licensed healthcare providerās signature verifying the clientās HIV status
- The ADAP Diagnosis Form completed by the applicantās physician or licensed healthcare provider
- A legible prescription for an antiretroviral drug listed on the ADAP formulary (excluding Truvada and Descovy), which includes the following information:
o Clientās first and last name
o Clientās date of birth
o Name of the antiretroviral drug
o Dated within the last 30 days
Please contact your OA Advisor if you have any questions regarding the information
