Lead Week 2022 Resources
Lead Week is a national annual campaign during the last full week of October to bring awareness to and prevent childhood lead exposure. This year, Lead Week takes place October 23-29 and California's theme is, "Protect your family from lead in drinking water, especially during lead service line replacement." Everyone is encouraged to get involved with Lead Week by participating in events and sharing these resources about preventing childhood lead poisoning. To learn more about lead poisoning and how to prevent lead exposure, visit the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch's (CLPPB's) Frequently Asked Questions and Lead Education Materials.
During Lead Week, CLPPB will host guest speakers to present about lead in drinking water and lead service line replacement. The webinars are free and open to the public. Details for each session, including registration links, will be posted in September.
Lead poisoning prevention messages will be posted on CDPH and local health jurisdictions' social media platforms during Lead Week. Check CDPH's Facebook and Twitter accounts throughout the week for information, tips, and resources for keeping your family lead-safe.
