Gradient Strip (GC Etest) Neisseria gonorrhoeae Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing Services at the Microbial Diseases Laboratory

Effective 06/26/2023, the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) Microbial Diseases Laboratory (MDL) will offer Neisseria gonorrhoeae antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) for azithromycin, ceftriaxone and cefixime using bioMérieux Etest® gradient strip. In the future, ciprofloxacin will be added to the AST panel and information will be added to the Test Information Sheet.
