The California Code of Regulations, Title 17, Section 2606.4, requires that all counties declared as ārabies areasā by the Director of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) maintain a rabies control program. Annual summaries of selected rabies control activities reported to CDPH are available by request from the CDPH Veterinary Public Health Section (
vetph@cdph.ca.gov).
