Goals
Problems
- Many children and adolescents are deprived of the ability to succeed educationally because of complex social, economic and health related problems which minimize their learning potential and ability to establish and achieve life enhancing goals.
Program Activities
Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program in Schools collaborates with state and local agencies to provide services to school age children and adolescents throughout California. Program activities focus upon:
- Health education
- Health services
- Physical education
- Healthy school environment
- Counseling, psychological and social services
- Nutrition, physical activity and obesity prevention
- Parent and community involvement
- Childhood injury prevention
