HIV/AIDS surveillance data is population-based information about persons diagnosed with HIV and AIDS, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). HIV/AIDS surveillance data include all demographic groups and are the primary source of HIV/AIDS information available in all U.S. states and territories. HIV/AIDS cases are reported to the California Department of Public Health, Office of AIDS (CDPH/OA) by local health department communicable disease investigators in collaboration and with the support of the Office of AIDS.
