Some of the most frequently requested data from the Medically Indigent Care Reporting System (MICRS) are provided in several tables linked to this page. These provide information on county-indigent patient utilization, ethnicity and expenditures by county for Fiscal Years 1998-99 forward. Counties report through MICRS as part of requirements associated with their receiving funds through either the California Healthcare for Indigents Program (CHIP) or the Rural Health Services (RHS) Program. The number of large counties who report vary from fiscal years. All 34 of the smaller counties provide county indigent healthcare services primarily through the County Medical Services Program that collects data associated with these services.
