Public Health for All

What You Need to Know

On September 17, 2025, California updated state law to ensure Californians have access to life-saving vaccines and screenings.

We want you to know there’s a strong public health and medical community that’ll continue to stand together to:

  • Share the data and evidence people need to make healthy choices.
  • Provide science-based recommendations.
  • Protect our communities.

California has also joined Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii in the West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA). This partnership ensures our public health strategies use the best available science. CDPH will always make evidence-based recommendations that support safety, efficacy, transparency, access, and trust.

The Public Health for All Californians Together (PHACT) Coalition was launched on September 26, 2025 to bring together different partners from across the state to protect and improve the health of Californians.

Vaccines for All

Vaccines continue to be the most important step in preventing serious illness for many infectious diseases. They stop the spread of illness, keep people out of hospitals, and save lives. Visit the CDPH Vaccines for All page for the latest immunization recommendations.

In California, we have a proud tradition of looking out for each other. We take seriously our responsibility for the common good. It’s important that we make sure everyone—especially children—has full access to immunization services.

Families without health insurance can get no to low-cost vaccines at Vaccines for Children program and Vaccines for Adults program providers. Visit MyTurn to learn more.

Visit the Shots for School CDPH page for information on immunization laws and required vaccinations for students in California.
