The West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA), CDPH, and Leading National Medical Organizations Continue to Recommend Hepatitis B Vaccination for Newborns. WCHA disagrees with CDC’s Advisory Committee’s change to decades-long vaccine recommendation that has reduced pediatric Hepatitis B infections by 99 percent - December 5, 2025

The Public Health for All Californians Together (PHACT) Coalition was launched on September 26, 2025 to bring together different partners from across the state to protect and improve the health of Californians.
The CDPH Mpox Vaccination website has current CDPH recommendations on the use of mpox vaccine for California. These recommendations are designed to protect those at increased risk of infection based on disease data in California.
Seasonal influenza activity is rising, particularly in the Bay Area and Southern California. Hospitalizations are currently low but are expected to increase. CDPH continues to recommend influenza vaccination, testing, and timely treatment.
A new H3N2 flu strain (subclade K)is causing severe early flu seasons in the Northern Hemisphere. Current influenza vaccines continue to offer protection, especially against severe disease.
RSV activity is increasing in California, especially among children. Hospitalizations are currently low but are expected to increase. Immunizations are recommended for all eligible persons.
COVID-19 activity remains very low statewide, with minimal test positivity, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations. CDPH continues to recommend COVID-19 vaccination, especially for those at increased risk and for all who choose protection.
