2025-26 Respiratory Virus Season Situation

Vaccines are one of the biggest successes in public health. They help stop the spread of illness, keep people out of hospitals and save lives.
Changes in national vaccine guidelines have caused confusion on who should get vaccines and when.
In response, California has joined the West Coast Health Alliance to ensure our public health advice is based on science and facts.
CDPH supports guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for COVID-19, Influenza and RSV vaccines.
We stand by science and are committed to ensuring Californians have access to safe, effective vaccines.
