Third Party Electronic Request for a Certified Copy​

The California Department of Public Health - Vital Records (CDPH-VR) does not have an online portal to receive electronic requests. However, if you wish to use an online service may use independent, third party companies listed below, which will electronically transmit applications to CDPH-VR or a county vital records office for fulfillment.  

Each independent, third party company may charge varying processing fee. The fee will be charged in addition to the CDPH-VR certified copy fee. Any questions regarding online orders should be directed to the third party company involved.

Note: If you have previously applied to amend your record, ensure the record is amended in our database before requesting a certified copy. If a record is requested from CDPH-VR at any time and the record is not yet available in the database, a Certificate of No Public Record will be issued and the fee with be retained as authorized by State law.

Third Party Vendors

CDPH-VR does not cancel online orders once it's been accepted for processing or have an expediting service. Any processing fee charged will not result in a faster delivery. Direct questions and concerns regarding online orders to the relevant third party company.
