OCCUPATIONAL LEAD POISONING PREVENTION PROGRAM
Worker training
Employers are required to implement a worker-safety training program that includes:
Policies and procedures concerning exposure to lead, worker medical surveillance, medical removal protection, and other worker protections.
Tasks that expose workers to lead and how lead enters the body.
Controls established to eliminate or reduce exposure to lead.
Proper use and limitations of respirators.
Health damage to workers resulting from exposure to lead, even at chronic low levels.
Dangers to household members, especially young children, when workers take home lead on their bodies, clothes and shoes.
Worker rights to medical examinations and access to exposure and medical records.
