2003 CLIA Crosswalk
The CLIA 2003 Crosswalk has been published in the California Notice Register. The Crosswalk lists provisions of CLIA 2003 deemed equivalent to or more stringent than California law. Those provisions listed as equivalent to or more stringent than California law (found on page 1 and 2) are adopted into California law based on Section 1208 of the California Business and Professions Code.
Tissue Bank Exemption Letter
Information about Assembly Bill 2750, which was signed into law by the Governor on September 9, 2016. This bill creates an exemption from current California tissue bank licensing laws regarding the storage of allograft tissue under certain conditions. The new exemption becomes effective on January 1, 2017.
As of August 15, 2016, AACRAO discontinued its educational transcript evaluation services. Until further notice, LFS will accept educational transcript evaluations completed by “Current Members” of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), and “Endorsed Members” of the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). Evaluations completed before August 15, 2016, will only be accepted if completed by AACRAO. Please visit the LFS Personnel Licensing page for further information and links to NACES and AICE.

ASM-CDC Sentinel Laboratory Survey
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are working together to conduct a baseline survey of all members of the state Laboratory Response Network on awareness and use of laboratory practice guidelines related to the collection, storage, and preservation of urine for microbiological culture.
