Visiting Healthcare Settings

Planning a visit to a hospital or nursing home? COVID-19 prevention rules for visitors to healthcare settings were recently updated, and will be in effect until at least February 7, 2022.

Visiting someone in the hospital? You must show proof of vaccination for COVID-19 OR a recent negative COVID test. (Taken within one day of visitation for antigen test, or within two days of visitation for PCR test.)

Visiting a nursing home resident? Be prepared to show proof of vaccination for COVID-19 (and proof of a booster if eligible) AND a recent negative COVID test.

Some exceptions apply. Read the full guidance.

All visitors must also wear a well-fitting face mask at all times (a surgical mask, double masking or an N95 or KN95 respirator is recommended) AND maintain physical distance from facility staff and residents.
