Diacritical Marks - AB 64
Effective July 1, 2026, CDPH-VR will begin accepting amendment requests to include diacritical marks on vital records in accordance with California Health and Safety Code Section 103227. AB 64 allows existing birth, marriage, and death records to be amended to include diacritical marks. To ensure your amendment is acceptable, see the Diacritical Mark List.
