Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) program

Local Health Department Education & Training

Local health department (LHD) staff may provide infection prevention and control (IPC) consultation, assist with outbreak management, or serve as IPC subject matter experts in various healthcare settings in their jurisdiction. To support LHD staff in their roles, the CDPH Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Program develops IPC education and training resources for distribution. Review each resource below for an overview of evidence-based IPC practices necessary for preventing healthcare-associated infections and spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and other pathogens across the continuum of care.
