National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction

The 13^th annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction will be held May 4-8, 2026. This nationwide event provides an important opportunity for employers to pause work and reinforce safety practices to prevent falls from elevation—a leading cause of death for construction workers.

The Occupational Health Branch (OHB) encourages all employers to pause work and emphasize safe work practices during the Stand-Down­­­—and all year long.  Prevention materials including worker handouts, toolbox talks, infographics, videos, posters, and stickers are available from the Center for Construction Research and Training.
