  • ​​​Clinical Overview of Heat and Pregnancy (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention): This guidance document is intended to help support conversations with pregnant women on the impact of heat on pregnancy to empower them to take protective actions on hot days. It includes the “CHILL'D out" questionnaire.
  • Lifting Guidelines during Pregnancy (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health): Infographic that gives provisional recommended weight limits for lifting at work during pregnancy.
  • MotherToBaby Fact Sheets (MothertoBaby): Searchable factsheets about common exposures during pregnancy and breastfeeding, including medications, recreational substances, cosmetic treatments, health conditions, infections, vaccines, and more. Available in English and Spanish.

  • "Pregnant on the Job," What to Expect When You're Expecting. 5th Edition. (Murkoff, H., 2016, Chapter 7): Book chapter that includes information on staying safe on the job, navigating unfair treatment at work and other relevant topics.
  • Prevent Heat Illness Among Pregnant Workers (U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration): Information on heat illness among pregnant workers, offering guidance to ensure their health and safety in the workplace.​​

  • ​​​​Chemical Hazard and Alternatives Toolbox (ChemHat) (Industrial Division of the Communication Workers of America): Searchable database designed by workers with information about the hazards of chemicals in the workplace, including effects on fertility and on children of exposed mothers.
  • Common Reproductive Chemical Hazards (Stanford University Environmental Health and Safety): A tool for researchers, employees, and students in academia and research exposures.
  • MotherToBaby (Organization of Teratology Information Specialists): Evidence-based information on the safety of medications and other exposures during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • National Toxicology Program (NTP) Center for the Evaluation of Risk to Human Reproduction (CERHR) (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services): This is a list of “Report on Carcinogens" monographs (cancer health effects) and NTP monographs (noncancer health effects).
  • NIOSH List of Haz​ardous Drugs in Healthcare Settings (PDF) (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health): This document helps healthcare employers identify drugs considered by NIOSH to be hazardous, including drugs which primarily pose a risk to pregnant or lactating workers or those trying to conceive.
  • Occupational Reproductive Health Toolkit Database and Resources (University of Washington, Occupational Safety and Health Continuing Education): Databases and other resources for identifying and managing occupational reproductive health risks.
  • Pregnant Workers and Ionizing Radiation (U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration): A list of resources for guidance related to ionizing radiation and pregnant workers.
  • Prop 65 List (California Environmental Protection Agency Office of Environmental Health Hazards Assessment): Searchable database mandated by California law that contains a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that are listed for cancer, reproductive and/or developmental harms.
  • Reproductive Health and The Workplace (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention): Links provide information on workplace hazards affecting and reproductive health, intended for workers, safety professionals, and clinicians.
  • ReproTox (The Reproductive Toxicology Center):  A searchable database with summaries of human and animal reproductive toxicity data from a variety of sources. [Paid subscription, free to students and trainees]
  • Teratogen Information System (TERIS) (University of Washington Shepard's Catalog of Teratogenic Agents):  Shepard's Catalog provides information on the teratologic effects of drugs, chemicals and infectious agents.
