The Climate Change and Health Unit (CCHU) of the Environmental Health Investigations Branch (EHIB) works with other climate change-related programs across CDPH to protect the health of vulnerable residents and communities from the harmful impacts of climate change.
Our team focuses on environmental exposures that are associated with wildfires, drought and floods. We are dedicated to 1) enhancing CDPHās capacity to provide climate change and health data, analysis, targeted technical assistance, messaging, and coordination with other agencies and stakeholders in California, and 2) raising awareness and enhancing local health departmentsā capacity to initiate work in the new field of climate change and health. Our team has expertise in surveillance, environmental health science, health education, and toxicology.
