Comprehensive cancer control program (CCCP)

How to Use the Plan

The plan is organized into eight key chapters, each addressing a part of the cancer control continuum: (Figure 1)

  1. Health Equity
  2. Cancer Surveillance and Data
  3. Childhood Cancer
  4. Primary Prevention
  5. Early Detection and Screening
  6. Treatment
  7. Survivorship
  8. Evaluation

Each chapter includes four core components:

Component

Description
Priorities
The main goals or focus areas for that chapter.
Measures
Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-based, and equity-centered indicators to track progress. Where baseline data is not available, developmental progress milestones are used.
Strategies
The broad approaches or methods for achieving the priorities.
Action Steps
Specific, shorter-term steps to implement the strategies. Action steps are flexible and updated regularly to reflect new evidence and emerging needs.
