Appendix III: Get Involved with CDOC

YOU'RE A CANCER CONTROL ADVOCATE

You work hard to reduce the burden of cancer in your community. But cancer is a complex issue, and it's difficult for one person to address on their own.

The California Dialogue on Cancer (CDOC) represents the infrastructure for coordinating the implementation of California's state cancer plan. However, cancer control partners and CDOC community members are ultimately the driving force of preventing cancer and saving lives through collaboration behind the achievement of the plan's goals and objectives. The implementation of the plan is the responsibility of all cancer control stakeholders. You can be a part of this important effort to reduce California's cancer burden and GET INVOLVED with CDOC.

There are many ways to GET INVOLVED! Below is a list of the many levels of CDOC engagement:

  • CDOC Workgroups
  • Networking opportunities
  • Professional development (educational webinars, in-person meetings, etc.)
  • Accessing exclusive content (CDOC listserv, comprehensive cancer updates, etc.)
  • Spotlighting your organization's projects
  • Industry-specific knowledge sharing
  • Work on a strategy from the State Cancer Plan
  • Share how you or your organization has used the cancer plan
Everyone has a role to play in preventing and controlling cancer, and in supporting California's cancer survivors. Together we can make a difference.

To learn how you can stay involved with CDOC, view our Membership page on the CDOC website.
