Cal-EIS aims to provide an opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on knowledge and skills in applied epidemiology and public health practice.  The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is committed to  developing California's public health workforce, and Cal-EIS Fellows and graduates are a cornerstone of this effort.  Fellows have an opportunity to work under the guidance of some of California's, and the nation's, most seasoned epidemiologists.  Fellows have assigned projects, but are also encouraged to take advantage of additional training opportunities throughout the year.  The Fellowship year provides an excellent preparation for epidemiologist positions in state and local health agencies. I welcome your interest in the CDPH Cal-EIS program!
