ADRD Research Projects

The State of California supports research that contributes to the better understanding, care, and support of patients and families affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders (ADRD). Pursuant to state law, the California Department of Public Health, Alzheimer's Disease Program (ADP) is authorized to award funds for ADRD research. Awards are funded in part from California taxpayers through the California Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementia Research Voluntary Tax Contribution Fund (Revenue & Taxation Code Sections 18761-18766), as well as ongoing state budget allocations from the State General Fund (Health and Safety Code Sections 125275-125280).

Past and current ADP-funded research opportunities are listed below. Thank you to all the individuals and organizations that dedicated time and effort to submitting applications.
