Women's Health Council Meeting Information
Members of the Women's Health Council (WHC) are appointed by the Directors of the California Department of Public Health and the Department of Health Care Services to serve in an advisory capacity, making recommendations on women's health policy to the Directors through the Office of Women's Health.
The WHC creates opportunities for public-private partnerships and linkages to improve the health status of women and girls in California. WHC members focus their work on broad areas of concern including: health access, health disparities, data/research. Ad Hoc working groups comprised of WHC members form to address time sensitive and specific topics such as access to health care, the impact of immigration reform, gynecologic cancers, and mental health.
