The Lead in Candy Interagency Collaborative was established by Assembly Bill 121, Chapter 707, Statutes of 2005. The members of the collaborative are identified as:
The purpose of the collaborative is to provide oversight and recommendations to the Department of Public Health and OEHHA in the implementation of the bill’s provisions and the development and revision of regulatory standards for lead in candy. The collaborative may periodically consult with federal agencies such as the United States Food and Drug Administration and United States Consumer Products Safety Commission, the candy industry, and recognized experts in the field.
