Welcome to the State of California

California Office of Binational Border Health Advisory Group

Assembly Bill (AB) 63 (Chapter 765, Statutes of 1999), officially created the Office of Binational Border Health (COBBH) within the California Department of Health Services (CDHS) and charged it with facilitating cooperation between health officials and health professionals in California and Mexico to protect and promote health in border and in binational communities throughout California.  AB 63 also directed COBBH to convene a voluntary advisory group comprised of representatives from different sectors of the health community and seek their advice in developing and implementing a strategic plan.

COBBH also serves as a convener, facilitator, and collaborator for health-related public and private organizations at federal, state, regional, and local levels to address health issues on both sides of the border.
