WIC has 82 local agencies in California that provide nutrition and health services to help pregnant women, mothers, and young children eat well and live active lives.
Local Agency Nutrition Positions Include:
- WIC Registered Dietitians (RDs) work in many areas of community nutrition, including: Nutrition and health education, Breastfeeding support and education, Curriculum development, Staff development and training
Supervision and management.
- Nutritionists, Nutrition Assistants, and Degreed Nutritionists. Many local WIC agencies offer nutrition assistant and nutritionist positions to graduates with a bachelors or masters degree in nutrition. Graduates from an ADA approved "Didactic Program in Dietetics" are encouraged to apply for these positions where they earn a competitive salary and gain valuable community nutrition experience.
