
Join us by celebrating Preteen Vaccine Week
February 13-19, 2011!
The goal of 2011’s Preteen Vaccine Week campaign is raise awareness about California’s new Tdap requirement for incoming 7th-12th grade students, ACIP recommendations and promote the preteen doctor visit through multiple avenues such as schools, providers, and the media.
ACIP currently recommends that 11- and 12-year-olds receive these vaccines:

Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough): For the 2011-12 school year, all students entering 7th through 12th grades will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school

Meningococcal
-
Annual flu vaccine
-
HPV (human papillomavirus) 3-shot series

A total of 2 vaccines against chickenpox (varicella)

This word document contains all of the information you need to run an outreach campaign to promote adolescent vaccines and the preteen doctor visit. This year’s kit is especially customized for the promotion of AB 354, a new school law that requires Tdap shots for all incoming 7th-12th graders during the 2011-2012 school year.
