This week highlights the importance of continuing influenza (flu) vaccination through the months of November, December and beyond. The flu season usually peaks in February or later, so getting vaccinated after the holidays can still protect you! It's not too late to protect yourself or your community. Get vaccinated against the flu!
What can YOU do to promote NIVW
If you're a flu vaccine provider you can enhance flu vaccine availability by:
- scheduling additional clinics
- extending clinic hours
- enabling a larger role for mass vaccination at places such as retail locations
If you want to protect your community, you can:
- distribute materials at physician offices or clinics
- work with your radio station to play audio public service announcements that promote flu immunizations
- ask you local TV stations to air the video public service announcements
- volunteer during a flu immunization clinic
- get vaccinated against the flu and encourage family members, coworkers, and friends to do so too!
