California's Master Plan for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and Treatment 2007-2015

California's Master Plan for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and Treatment 2007-2015 (Master Plan) responds to an urgent need that was acknowledged by the State Legislature and the Governor in 2003 with the passage of Assembly Bill (AB) 1220 (Berg). This legislation established the California Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and Treatment Task Force for the purpose of writing a plan to reduce the morbidity, mortality, and economic burden of heart disease and stroke, the first and third leading causes of death in California. The Master Plan was written to guide and coordinate the efforts of the many organizations, agencies, and individuals who are stakeholders in reducing death and disability from heart disease and stroke.
