History & Background
The Network for a Healthy California was established in 1986 to develop technical capacity in the California Department of Health Services, for implementing large-scale dietary improvement measures. Its activities include the development and implementation of the 5 a Day-for Better Health! Campaign in 1988, California Dietary Practices Surveys starting in 1989, and the Nutrition Network for Healthy, Active Families Campaign and the Skin Cancer Prevention Program in 1998.
