Fruit, Vegetable, and Physical Activity Campaigns

The Network for a Healthy California operates a variety of social marketing campaigns and programs designed to increase fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity levels among low-income families. The campaigns and programs include the Children and Youth Programs (Children's Power Play! Campaign, Early Care and Education, and Youth Engagement); Health Equity Campaigns (Latino Campaign, African American Campaign, Asian American Campaign, and American Indian/Alaska Native Campaign); Retail Program, Worksite Program, Physical Activity Program, and Rethink Your Drink Campaign.

The campaigns and programs facilitate behavior change by

  • educating low-income consumers directly through multiple venues;
  • enabling organizations and communities to create environments that support fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity; and
  • establishing policies that make fruits and vegetables and physical activity more accessible.
