The DAD Team was formed with the sole purpose of forming coalitions in California to organize local communities to advocate for increased access to care and early detection based on the needs of the diverse communities in California. The DAD Team convenes a broad based group of organizations to reduce cancer-related health disparities through supporting access to care and early detection in populations of their respective geographical areas. The DAD team organizes nine Access to Cancer Care Community Coalitions leading activities and programs that reduce disparities in access to care and early detection. Through these coalitions, the DAD Team reaches 75 % of California’s population. The DAD Team develops strategic plans to promote access to care and early detection specific to the communities/populations each respective coalition serves. These plans are used to guide activities and projects compatible with the needs of those communities.
