Ending Violence Against Women: A Forum for Primary Prevention Advocates
This annual Forum is presented as an activity of the Safe and Active Communities Branch, Violence Prevention Unit, Violence Against Women Statewide Prevention Project. The Forum is designed for violence against women prevention advocates who are currently implementing local or statewide violence against women primary prevention programs. The purpose of this gathering is to strengthen capacity and collaboration among advocates, organizations and communities for program and policy development.
The Forum was initiated in response to the Violence Against Women Statewide Prevention Project's landmark document, California Statewide Policy Recommendations for the Prevention of Violence Against Women (PDF, 1 MB, ), which included proposed priorities for establishing dedicated resources for primary prevention programs, and for developing common messages across sexual violence and domestic violence efforts.
