Kids' Plates
The California Kids' Plates program offers a variety of grants to meet the diverse needs of organizations throughout California working to prevent childhood unintentional (accidental) injuries. Newcomers to injury prevention as well as organizations who want to enhance their current efforts are welcome to apply.
Mini-grants generally between $8,000 and $15,000 each, for 9-12 months.
Regional or Statewide grants generally between $50,000 and $75,000 each, for 18-24 months.
Training grants generally between $3,000 and $5,000 each. Funds can be used to conduct or attend workshops, conferences and other training opportunities to enhance program's injury prevention efforts.
Equipment grants generally between $3,000 and $5,000 each. Funds can be used to purchase bike helmets, child safety seats, booster seats, smoke alarms, etc. Requests for special types of safety equipment will be considered.
All award recipients receive training and technical assistance to help foster their success.
