Privacy, Security and Confidentiality
The California Biobank Program combines the collective resources of two CDPH health screening and monitoring programs,
the California Birth Defects Monitoring Program (CBDMP) and the Genetic Disease Screening Program (GDSP). These programs
each collect important personal and medical information about California children and mothers through screening tests for genetic
disorders and medical records. The Department is required by state and federal statutes, to maintain the confidentiality of all health
information that is collected. Follow the link to learn more about the program’s privacy and security policies and to find information about
you and your family’s privacy rights. The Department’s Privacy Office is also available for further information.
