Welcome to the State of California

Food Stamp Outreach

The Network partners with the California Department of Social Services, California Association of Food Banks, Central Valley Health Network and numerous community based organizations throughout California to promote participation in the Food Stamp Program.

Community based partners’ activities include educating clients about the Food Stamp Program, prescreening clients for potential eligibility in the Food Stamp Program, and assisting clients with the Food Stamp Program application.

Additionally, food stamp outreach partnerships have resulted in the development of the statewide, toll-free Food Stamp Information Line (1-877-847-3663). Callers to the Food Stamp Information Line are assisted in English or Spanish and, in many cases, by a live operator. Callers can receive information about the Food Stamp Program and applying in their county of residence.

For additional information about the Network’s food stamp outreach program, contact Stephanie Nishio at (916) 449-5318; for fiscal inquiries, contact Cristina Acosta at (916) 552-9932.
