The content on a Map Page presents information about the health indicator that is represented on the map, including the rate measure (numerator and denominator); how the rate was calculated; its statistical reliability; the range of rates throughout California; and, finally, its comparison to State rates and the Healthy People 2010 National Objective.
The links at the bottom of a Map Page give you access to the resources utilized in the application, including the associated data tables and geospatial files and/or services for consuming into your own web applications.
The maps included here are to provide the user with an interactive visual display of the information collected and published by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
How to use the Map:
- To find more information about the map, click on the map to return indicator rates in that specific county. You may need to move the image around by using the "click-drag" feature to capture the full view of the pop-ups. Click on the "X" button in the top-right corner of the pop-up window to close after viewing county data.
- To zoom in or out, use the slider in the bottom-left corner to zoom in (or use the SHIFT Key and drag the mouse) and out (SHIFT and CTRL and drag the mouse)
- To show the legend, click the Legend Text to see what each color or symbol represents (e.g. rate classifications).
