Processing Times

Requests for Certified Copies

These are our average processing times for certified copies, which may occasionally increase as our volume of requests increases. (County Recorder Offices can process requests much faster than our office.)

If you are amending a birth or death record and have paid for a certified copy of the amended record, refer to the processing timeframes below for amendments. 

  • Birth or Death Record - 12 weeks (average)
  • Public Marriage Record - Can exceed 6 months
  • Certificate of Record (Divorce) - Can exceed 6 months

Requests for Amendments

The average processing times for amendments are listed below.  These processing times include issuing a certified copy of the amended record (if you paid for a copy).  Our processing times may occasionally increase as our volume of requests increases.

  • Birth Affidavits - 7 Months
  • Death Affidavits -12 Months
  • Marriage Affidavits - 7 Months
  • Supplemental Name Reports - 7 Months
  • Court Order Name Changes - 7 Months
  • Paternities / Adjudications - 12 Months
  • Adoptions - 10 Months
  • Delayed Registrations - 3 Months
