The overall goal of the California Vietnamese Adult Tobacco Survey was to assess tobacco use by adult Vietnamese Californians at the population level, to expand existing epidemiological knowldge of tobacco related behaviors, and to understand whether strategies which are currently being employed are culturally appropriate in effectively reaching this population.

Tobacco Marketing in Retail Outlets, 2000-2005: How the Retail Environment Changed Over Time and How Community Characteristics Shape It (PDF, New Window)

This study documents the extent of tobacco marketing materials in a sample of California stores that sold tobacco in 2005; studies pricing strategies of three premium and three discount cigarette brands; identifies how the amount and types of cigarette marketing materials have changed in California between 2000 and 2005; and assesses community influences on cigarette marketing in stores.
