Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Advisory Oversight Committee (PCI AOC)
Senate Bill (SB) 891, passed in September 2008, requires that the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) develop a three-year study on the efficacy of PCI in hospitals without onsite cardiac surgery backup and bring together a multidisciplinary group to make recommendations on the process and outcomes related to elective PCI centers without cardiac surgery backup. This multidisciplinary group is the PCI AOC.
