Join us by celebrating 2011 National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) & Toddler Immunization Month (TIM)
NIIW is April 23 - 30, 2011 & TIM is May 2011
National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) and Toddler Immunization Month (TIM) have been celebrated since 1993. NIIW is a national observance and TIM is a California-specific observance. Both are annual observances that highlight the need to fully immunize children age 2 and younger against 14+ vaccine-preventable diseases. The 2011 campaign, themed “Immunize to Stay on Track”, encourages a lifetime of good health with timely vaccinations. Due to the present pertussis (whooping cough) epidemic in California, the 2011 campaign will also place a special emphasis on infants and close contacts of infants receiving the pertussis vaccine.
Coalitions, health departments and stakeholders are encouraged to use NIIW/TIM as a springboard to promote childhood immunizations with local activities and recognition ceremonies.
